Are you talking about the martial-arts-cheerleading episode, where 
onna-Ranma cheers for the Furikan kedo team?

I thought I was going to have to mention that Kuno dated Ranma.

Now here is the reasoning.

Cheerleaders for a school also have to undergo physical examinations.  
Ranma would have to have undergone a physical examination to have 
competed or to have been acknowledged as a cheerleader.  If anyone says 
that Akane would have been considered a man then, you are wrong since 
anybody of either sex could participate in a Kendo battle.

So there are _two_ Saotome Ranma's registered officially at Furinkan High 
School.

1)  A MALE Saotome Ranma that goes to all the perscribed classes.

2)  A FEMALE Saotome Ranma that has absolutely no class schedule.

Only his school mates and a few of the teachers know the truth which may 
be why the female Saotome Ranma has not been arrested for absentism.
